Kid
Zone –
Starts back up on August 23, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00
p.m. Children K – 5 through 5th grade are invited each
Sunday evening to play game, join in activities make crafts,
have a snack and experience a Bible Lesson. We will have a
special opening day surprise on August 23rd.
King’s
Kids Choir – August 19th Children in Pre K
through 5th grade are invited to join me and Ken Bolt each
Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. – 7: 15 p.m. to prepare to
praise and celebrate God through songs and handbells. We will
start our new choir season by reviewing and performing some
of the fun songs we learned at Crocodile Dock Vacation Bible
School. Once a month, the King’s Kids Choir will present
music during Sunday worship.

Fun & Fellowship Events
Play in the Shade Playground Ministry – Each
Thursday children and their parents are invited to join us
on the playground from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. for a light
snack and playtime. This is a great time to meet other parents,
spend time with friends and enjoy being outside. The church
will supply a light snack and restroom facilities.

Barry and Debbie Lancaster’s home for pizza, swimming

September 19, 2009 - Cagle’s Dairy Farm Corn Maize &
Hayride/Bonfire
We will leave Maple Avenue UMC by 3:30 p.m. and travel to
Canton where we will have fun finding our way though the corn
maize, bouncing up and down on the Jumpee Pillow, riding on
the hay wagon and roasting marshmallows at the bonfire. Preschool
age children must be accompanied by a parent. Cost: $15.00
per person. Please bring a sack dinner and a drink. A cooler
will be provided. We’ll eat dinner before going on the
hayride. THE R.S.V.P DEADLINE IS NOON ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER

October 4, 2009 – 2:30 p.m. – Blessing of Animals
Service. Bring your furry and feathered friends to a special
outdoor worship service where we give thanks to God for the
joy and blessings of animals. Oh yes, reptile type pets are
also welcome to join us. Be sure to bring pets on leashes
or in the appropriate carrier or container.

Trunk or Treat, Chili Cook Off & Ice Cream Challenge –
Come to MAUMC in your costume, trick or treat from trunk to
trunk, play games, jump on the moonwalk, eat yummy chili and
enjoy ice cream.

December 5, 2009 – Breakfast with Santa – The
big guy will be at Maple Avenue UMC from 9:00 a.m. –
12:00 p.m., so come and join him for a pancake breakfast.
There will be time for making crafts, shopping in the Secret
Santa Shop and taking pictures with Santa.
Sunday,
December 20, 2008 – Children’s Nativity - The
children are invited to help present the Christmas Story during
morning worship. There are no rehearsals or lines to memorize.
Each child will be assigned a role at the beginning of December
and is ask to provide their costume. We will meet that morning
to do a quick run through of the program. Information on times
will follow.
Mission
Outreach for Children
In an effort to help our children understand that
Christians are called to live out their faith and love for
Jesus Christ through acts of love and compassion, we will
engage in several mission outreach projects. Here are just
a few of the mission projects.
Donating
specific food items for Operation Blessings – The children
are ask to donate specific food items each month and to bring
them to Bible Zone.. Parents, please encourage your children
to participate.
August – 16 oz box of saltine crackers
September – canned soups
October – 15 oz canned pork-n-beans
November – 15 oz canned fruit
December -15 oz canned green beans
Collecting change for Maple Avenue UMC’s annual Thanksgiving
dinner – Each year MAUMC prepares Thanksgiving dinner
for the needy people of our community. In the past, our preschoolers
have collected change during Sunday School to help with the
cost of the meal. However, beginning in September, all the
children are asked to collect change. Let’s see which
class is the first to full up their collection jar.
Christmas
at Fort Hills Community Center – Once again, Maple Avenue
UMC will provide a Christmas party for the children of the
Fort Hills Community. This is a wonderful way for children
and their parents to celebrate the season and to share the
love of Christ with others. Information on the date and time
will follow.
Birthday
Party for Jesus – Wednesday, December 16, 2009 –
During our last Wednesday Night Supper of the year, we will
celebrate the real reason for the Christmas Season. Everyone’s
admission into supper will be a brand new toy for the M.U.S.T
Ministries’ Christmas Toy Shop. Come and join the fun
and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
Continuing
Children’s Ministries at MAUMC
Children’s Bible Zone (Sunday School) begins
at 10:00 a.m. each Sunday morning in the Education Building.
The children join us each Sunday for praise and worship at
The Intersection from 9:45 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. and then
are dismissed to Bible Zone. Children preschool age though
5th grade experience the love of God through Bible stories,
games, crafts, music and fellowship.
Promotion
Sunday Celebration - August 30, 2009 – During the 9:45
worship service we will celebrate that our children have completed
another year in their spiritual development. Please note that
the children will attend their new Bible Zone classes beginning
