MAUMC 2010 Children’s Summer Calendar
June 6th – End of the Summer Pool Party - Meet at Carriage
Oaks Pool from 4:15 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. for swimming and
pizza. Children’s Ministry will provide the pizza and
drinks, but each family is asked to bring fruit, chips or
cookies to share. I’ll send out an email reminder.
June 13th - Kid Zone Summer Sunday – Children K-5 –
5th grade meet at MAUMC from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. for
fellowship, food, fun and faith building activities.
June 20th - Kid Zone/Youth Father’s Day Cookout –
Bring Dad to a cook out and game night at MAUMC from 5:00
p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
June 27th – No Kid Zone – We are setting up for
VBS
June 28th – July 2nd – VBS - All children age
3 (potty trained) – 5th grade are invited to join us
at High Seas Expedition Vacation Bible School from 9:00 a.m.
– noon each day. Look for VBS registration forms in
the mail or down load them in early May. The pre-registration
dead-line is
June 21st. Please invite your friends.
July 3rd – Maple Avenue UMC Traditional July 4th Celebration
– 5:00 p.m. until after the fireworks. Yes, it’s
the 3rd, but the City is hosting all the festivities on Saturday.
July 4th – No Kid Zone – Enjoy celebrating July
4th with your family.
July 7th – Wonderful Wednesday Bowling at Marietta AMF
Lanes – Children K-4 – 5th grade, let’s
go bowling from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Marietta
AMF Lanes on Cobb Parkway. The cost is $6.50 per person, which
covers the cost of shoe rental and 2 games of bowling. Don’t
forget to bring socks. Children’s Ministry will provide
popcorn and drinks. Please R.S.V.P by noon Monday,
July 5th.
July 11th - Kid Zone Summer Sunday – Children K-5 –
5th grade meet at MAUMC from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. for
fellowship, food, fun and faith building activities.
July 14th – Wonderful Wednesday Pool Party – All
children are invited to bring their swimsuits, a towel and
lunch and hang out at the Kosior’s pool from 11:00 p.m.
– 1:00 p.m. Children’s Ministry will provide drinks.

July 18th - Kid Zone Summer Sunday Mission Project for M.U.S.T.’s
Summer Lunch Program – We’ll meet from 5:00 p.m.
– 6:00 p.m. and play games and eat our snack. From 6:00
p.m. – 7:00 p.m., we’ll decorate bags, make sandwiches
and pack lunches for hungry children. These lunches will be
taken to M.U.S.T Ministries for delivery to children in our
community. I’LL NEED SEVERAL PARENT VOLUNTEERS FOR THIS
PROGRAM, SO PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOUR AVAILABILITY.
July 21st – Wonderful Wednesday at Noah’s Ark
Animal Rehabilitation Center – We’ll leave MAUMC
promptly at 9:30 and travel to Locust Grove, Georgia to visit
Noah’s Ark Animal Rehabilitation Center and Children’s
Care Homes. The Center cares for domestic, live stock and
exotic animals that are injured or unwanted. The Center nurses
the animals back to health and works to find them homes. There
is no admission cost; however, donations are accepted. Every
person attending this activity is asked to bring $5.00 to
go toward a donation to Noah’s Ark and to help cover
the cost of gas for the church vans. For more info on Noah’s
Ark, please visit their website at www.noahs-ark.org. Please
bring a sack lunch and 2 drinks (one for lunch and bottled
water for inside the park.) Coolers will be provided. Please
dress comfortably and wear tennis shoes. In order to provide
adequate transportation, please R.S.V.P by noon on Thursday,
July 15th.
July 25th - Kid Zone Summer Sunday – Children K-5 –
5th grade meet at MAUMC from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. for
fellowship, food, fun and faith building activities.
July 27th – Wonderful Wednesday Annual Messy Olympics
at Maple Ave UMC – Children K-4 – 5th grade, meet
at MAUMC from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. for pizza and lots
of messy games. It’s a lot of fun. Please bring $3.00
each to cover the cost of pizza and drinks. Wear old clothes
and shoes and don’t forget to bring plenty of towels
and a change of clothes. Please R.S.V.P by noon on Monday,
July 25th, so we’ll know how much pizza to purchase.
August 1st - Kid Zone Summer Sunday – Children K-5 –
5th grade meet at MAUMC from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. for
fellowship, food, fun and faith building activities.
August 8th - Kid Zone Summer Sunday – Children K-5 –
5th grade meet at MAUMC from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. for
fellowship, food, fun and faith building activities
August 15th - Kid Zone 2010-2011 Start Up Celebration –
Children K-5 – 5th grade meet at MAUMC from 5:00 p.m.
– 7:00 p.m. for fellowship, food, fun and faith building
activities. We’ll celebrate a new year of Kid Zone with
a special/fun activity. NOTE: THE CHILDREN STARTING 6TH GRADE
IN 2010 WILL MOVE TO THE YOUTH PROGRAM AS OF THE AUGUST 13TH
YOUTH BACK TO SCHOOL LOCK IN. *
August 18th – Wednesday Evening Activities Start Up
– Look for more information about the 2010-11 Kid’s
Choir season.
Parents, please help me by responding to R.S.V.P deadlines.
*Parents of 2010 6th Graders - Information on the Youth Back
to School Lock In will be sent to you. Also, please make plans
to attend an important parent’s meeting on Sunday, August
15th at 5:00 p.m. in the Youth Center.
